Talent quest

At Paihia School last week kids competed  in the talent quest. It started at 11:30,
the performance was in the whare. . There were three  judges there name Whaea Roni,
Whaea Alisha and Brigitte. I enjoyed performing in Talent Quest with my group and working together .
I enjoyed dancing on the stage in front of everyone and using my hoe.
I think what I could do better next time  is look to the front.
I think that I am going to enter the talent quest with my group and my friend Jade to try win.

Reflection

In Te Ngahere we have being learning about making a marble run.

We made the marble run for Steam, steam stands for Science,Technology ,

Engineering,Art and Maths.

Our teachers Whaea Becks and Whaea Chrissy let us pick what we wanted to use.

So that our ramp was created out of multiple materials so that we all had the same advantage.

We had to write a list of instructions for other groups to try and build our ramp. We gave the group what we made the ramp out of and the list of instructions.

What I enjoyed is just working with my team and building

character with them also  just having fun.

What I think I could do better next time is work a little bit harder

and write some clearer instructions. 

Robots

 In Te Ngahere we have been making a DLO, DLO stands for digital learning object.
We made them because if we had to relearn we wouldn't have to go to another work shop around it.
In  maths we have been focusing on doubling and halving , doubling and halving is when you find the best number to double and the best to half. We had to give specific information , some people used screencastify and some just used their words to explain. You had two questions and you had explain how you got the answer and how you figured it out. What I did well was that I didn’t give up and sit there. What I could do better next time is ask for help and be more kind to myself and my body.

At Paihia School we had the amazing opportunity to be able to code with the Sphero robots.\
Whaea Becks took some children in to our whare and  taught them how to use the bots.
We had to go in to the app and sign in.
It was hard but lucky that Whaea Becks was an expert.
We made the robots go forward and backward.
The teachers had a go and try the robots  before letting the kids try and play around with them and they
had some knowledge. What I enjoyed was just having the opportunity to have a play around with robots
. What i could do better next time is work better with my peer and share the robot a little bit more.

Be Bright Eat Right

On the 27th February 2019 the magician came to Paihia School to talk about BE BRIGHT AND EAT RIGHT. We learned to have a better plate with all of the categories of foods. . Including protein,dairy,grains, fruit and vegetables. All of these things are important because they help strengthen our body's. What I enjoyed was all of the tricks and the animals, they were so cute. BAMM out of nowhere birds flew out. The act included fire and animals he lit the piece of material on fire and the bird popped out. What I think I could do better next time is I can ask more interesting questions . Blog you later

Maths and talent Quest

I think what I could do better next time is look to the front. I think that I am going to enter the talent quest with my group and my friend Jade to try win.

In maths we have been focusing on doubling and halving , doubling and halving is when you find the best number to double and the best to half. I like using this to solve multiplication problems. It helps when you know you basic facts. When you use Multiplication it is just doubling the number so it not the hard for you.

Marble run

What was something your group did well? We worked together and we made a good ramp and we got very good results. We tested it heaps and tried to get better results, we came 3rd. What is something you could have done better? We could've make the instructions more clearer so the group building it can understand for example , I told them to put it on the corner and we could of said to put it by the marks and then made marks , and get our things ready before the people that are going to test are ready. How close did your marble get to 110 cm? Did the marble go further than 110 cm? Or shorter? Our marble made 110 once and then it went to other places. Our marble went all over the place and we started to get to the 3’s and 2’s. Why do you think your ramp was or was not successful? Why? Why not? Our ramp was successful because the people that had rolled the marble and the height that it was. Why not? Because the ramp was confusing for the other team to understand in the explaining. How clear were your instructions? What was something you explained well? What was something that needed to be clearer? My instrestion were not clear enough because they had to tweak it different. What we explain well is that to start the marble where it say coloring pencils. What I think could of being clearer is the spelling. If you had an opportunity to design a new ramp. What would you change? Improve? What I would change would be the pencil box because it does not keep still and I would just change that too. I would also make the picture more clearer.

ANZAC

In Te Ngahere we have being leaning to use our basic facts to solve big number problems. We were learning around Anzac biscuits. My group did how to make 30 cookies into 120 cookies..We have made DLO to show how we figured it out. What I think that I did well is that I work well with my team and tried my best to help them figure out the answers. What I think that I could do better next time is not stress about not getting the work done and just try my hardest. Blog you guys latter
