Fibonacci Maths Learning

Today my class and I did code and fibonacci with Mr Lindsay. We were learning to make koru using the codes in code.org. When we started it was very difficult because we didn’t know where the number sequences would go. A group of people were very stuck after we went to the workshop. Mr Lindsay was amazing and explained it again. What I think I did well is that I figured out the sequence and that I divided the sequence by 10. What I think I enjoyed is that I was the 3rd to finish.

Talent quest

At Paihia School last week kids competed  in the talent quest. It started at 11:30,
the performance was in the whare. . There were three  judges there name Whaea Roni,
Whaea Alisha and Brigitte. I enjoyed performing in Talent Quest with my group and working together .
I enjoyed dancing on the stage in front of everyone and using my hoe.
I think what I could do better next time  is look to the front.
I think that I am going to enter the talent quest with my group and my friend Jade to try win.

Reflection

In Te Ngahere we have being learning about making a marble run.

We made the marble run for Steam, steam stands for Science,Technology ,

Engineering,Art and Maths.

Our teachers Whaea Becks and Whaea Chrissy let us pick what we wanted to use.

So that our ramp was created out of multiple materials so that we all had the same advantage.

We had to write a list of instructions for other groups to try and build our ramp. We gave the group what we made the ramp out of and the list of instructions.

What I enjoyed is just working with my team and building

character with them also  just having fun.

What I think I could do better next time is work a little bit harder

and write some clearer instructions. 

Robots

 In Te Ngahere we have been making a DLO, DLO stands for digital learning object.
We made them because if we had to relearn we wouldn't have to go to another work shop around it.
In  maths we have been focusing on doubling and halving , doubling and halving is when you find the best number to double and the best to half. We had to give specific information , some people used screencastify and some just used their words to explain. You had two questions and you had explain how you got the answer and how you figured it out. What I did well was that I didn’t give up and sit there. What I could do better next time is ask for help and be more kind to myself and my body.

At Paihia School we had the amazing opportunity to be able to code with the Sphero robots.\
Whaea Becks took some children in to our whare and  taught them how to use the bots.
We had to go in to the app and sign in.
It was hard but lucky that Whaea Becks was an expert.
We made the robots go forward and backward.
The teachers had a go and try the robots  before letting the kids try and play around with them and they
had some knowledge. What I enjoyed was just having the opportunity to have a play around with robots
. What i could do better next time is work better with my peer and share the robot a little bit more.
