Respecting The Rules of Kawa of Care

This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about the Kawa of Care. If you don’t Know what Kawa of Care is it’s the rules of your chromebook. It’s really good to stick to your Kawa of Care because it will keep your chromebook safe. I have created a Kawa Of Care D.L.O it also explains rules about the Kawa of Care. What I did well is I picked good rules to explain. What I could do better is remember to stick to the rules like putting the case on my chromebook. What are some rules your school has for your chromebook.

Our Magnificent Movie

In Te Ngahere we have been making movies, our movies are group activities. My groups movies about something like Dora the explorer but it's called Lora the Maori Explorer. Before we were able to start to film we had to write our script, angles, film type and much more. I found out there is much more than just filming  that goes into a movie. I like doing my movie because my group is very positive and makes me happy when I’m filming. What I did well was I learned my lines. What I could do better is I can stop laughing while we are filming.   Have you ever made a short film before?

The Non-Stop Running.

We have been training for cross country. We run for 15 minutes straight to one goal post around a playground and in a loop. We run most days and it is really tiring. There are people in my class that are all for PE. They find PE as a way to have fun. I feel like I need to run more because I have been getting distracted and have been chatting to my friends more than doing the running. What I did well is ran a little bit. What I could do better is Block out my friends and do better running. Do you like running?

LInk This is the link to the training we have been doing.

1,2,3 Blast Off Writing

This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning how to write narrative writing. If you don’t know how to do narrative writing some easy tips I got taught was to 1. Plan out what your story will be about 2. Write it down in paragraphs 3. Add more detailed words. I have been writing more detail words in my writing because its was really interesting that our stories would be made into actual movies. What I did well is tried my best to finish it but it isn't yet. What I could do better is read it out loud.

Magnificent Maths

This week in Te Ngahere we did multiplication with tidy numbers. If you are wondering what that is it is changing a number to a tidy number and multiplying it but the single digit. I found this hard at first because I didn’t really understand how the numbers would work together. Then I got some help from my friend and teachers and I got a understanding of how to finish this type of work. I feel like I did a good enough job on this type of work. What I did well is I tried to get the answers right. What I could do better is think before getting bored and not doing any work. What do you think about multiplication with tidy numbers?

Our Wonderful Smooth Moves

For the past few weeks we have been learning Tik Tok dances. Anyah and Mihipeka are the names of the girls that helped us do our Tik Tok dances. Our dances are appropriate ,fun and very interesting. I liked doing our dances because we got to move and do other active things. We did our two dances in the Whare for our school assembly. I was very shy because we had to do the dance in front of a lot of people. What I did well was used my ears and did my best. What I could do better is co-operate more. Here is a video that one of our teachers recorded. Would you try doing dances in front of your whole school?

My Wonderful Art is Finished

For the past weeks in Te Ngahere we have been doing art. The type of art we are doing is PouPou, PouPou are carvings that stand outside or in a Marae. The steps to finish our art were 1.To draw the different body parts of the PouPou, 2. Draw patterns, 3. To vivid all the pencil,4. Use blending to color in the art. I liked doing my PouPou art because I got to explore with hot and cold colors, hot colors are like red, yellow, orange, ect and cold colors are like blue and purple and greens. I liked this type of art because I got to work on Maori patterns. I liked that we got to do a rough copy before we did the real copy. I tried my hardest to finish my art because I’m not that good at art. What I did well was blending colors together. What I could do better is ask when I need help. Do you like my art?
