Movie experantce
For the past few weeks in Te Ngahere we have been making movies. A few weeks ago me and my group started making a script. We had to learn what scenes we wanted. After we started filming. I like doing this because it lets my imagination run wild. The reason we did this was because we have the Kawakawa Film Festival coming up. Two class in our school will send some people to go. Me and my group had our up and downs but we manage to finish a movie. Our film is about bullying and how you can realise that the people around you can be an bad influence. What I did well is that I worked with my group. What I could do better is work faster and work together. Blog you later.

Ki o rahi training
This week at Paihia School kids have being training for Ki o rahi. I like doing Ki o rahi because it is fun and easy way to do fitness. This week we are going to be attending a tournament in Morewa. We will be playing different schools around our community. Our coaches make a real difference to how we play. They have being giving up there time to coach us I am so happy that they do this because it gives us time to learn and improve our skills. I like this so much. What I did well is that I learnt how to play the game again. What I could do better is try to use my skills and calm down before throwing the ball. How do you think I could calm down and through the ball quickly?

The importance of working together
This week in Te Ngahere we learnt a game and it helped getting people to work together instead of one person doing it all. The game was about matching cards in a set of four without making hand signals or talking. It was really hard for me because I talk a lot but it was also very helpful because I finally got to use my skills in noticing what was going to match with what. After you were done you had to sit there quietly and not say anything so that you didn’t interrupt the other groups. What I learnt from this is to not talk as much and to notice things around me
1.like is that right?
2. will that go there?
3. How would that match?
I like this game a lot and I can’t wait until we work on this more. How do you think you would of done when doing this challenge?

Lesson on how to stay safe on a boat
Lesson on how to stay safe on a boat
This week in Te Ngahere we got a visit form a lady called Tracey. We learnt about how to be safe in the summer time around water. These were the five things that she told us about when being safe on a boat ,
1 check the weather,
2 Wear life jackets,
3 tell someone,
4 put our safety first and
5 have a waterproof phone or radio.
From what i've learnt I will make sure that I talk to my dad about buying flares because that was the only thing that we are missing on our boat. What was interesting to me was flares and all the different types of them.

Newspaper towers
This week in Te Ngahere we were learning how to make a free standing object with limited amount of material. I worked with Kai and Isabella. The material that we could use was two sheets of newspaper and 30cm of cellotape. My group and I came up with a design and started building. What I learnt was patience and not to rush things. If I had a chance to do this again I would have made legs so that it would stand and also make the base more thick so that it would balance stand without guided. What I did well is that I made our tower stand because I didn’t give up and I kept on trying. What I also did well is that I talked with my group and made sure that we all had turn putting all the material together. What I could do better is not give up straight away and think before sticking the tape. What I also think I could have done better is stopped and not rushed because it might have stood up properly. What do you think we could have done better to make our tower stand?
